As of June 1, 2010, new modernized Medicare supplement plans went into effect. If you have a pre standardized or standardized plan, you will not need to switch, just continue paying your premiums and your plan will stay inforce. Along with other changes, some new medigap plans have been made available for seniors.
Plan N and plan M became available. Plans E, H, I and J will no longer be offered, but if you have one of these plans now, you can keep it. In addition, plan D and plan G purchased after June 1, 2010 will have different benefits than those purchased before that date. You can keep your D or G coverage and it will not be subject to change if it was purchased before June 1.
